What says “Labor Day” more than an end of summer BBQ?

We had a great time BBQing with family yesterday- it’s always such a treat to have one extra day to reconnect and enjoy the last days of summer.  Of course, it’s almost always 70 degrees and sunny here in Orange County, but for some of us, I am sure the beginning of August still looms large with the pressure of starting school again…

The kid has a sophisticated palate- that’s a goat-cheese-stuffed Italian sausage!

What wine to pair with lunch? I went with one of my favorite and most food-versatile wines, Laetitia’s Sparkling Brut Rose.  There is a great deal of strawberry and flowery Pinot Noir on the nose, but the bright acidity and substantial body to this wine make it idea for grilled foods.  Reasonably priced, domestic and sustainably produced– what more could you ask for?  The Laetitia Brut Rose also paired well with a delicious Tabbouleh salad…

Delicious Tabbouleh!

Balanced, refreshing and versatile!

Love the way this looks in the glass…

Perfect with the rose: Angela’s delicious Mango Salsa!

Smile for the camera!

Patience, my friend- something will eventually fall off the table.

About The Author

I love all things Italian: the beautiful country of Italia, the Italians themselves, the language, the food… and above all, I love Italian wine. The people I meet in my charmed life are fascinating, the wines are extraordinary. I needed a special place like this to write about them, and to remember them.
