Finding Piemonte, in Piemonte.

Italy has always been a special place for me.  Initially it was a mysterious, exotic place full of sleek, beautiful people whose language I could feel, but could not understand.

Then as I began to study the language and culture, Italy became more familiar, like a girlfriend or a favorite cousin.  After living in Bologna I realized it was going to be the country in which I grew up and found myself.  Italy became the launchpad for the rest of my life.

It’s no surprise I find myself bewitched by the wines of Italy.  As varied and vociferous as the thousands of micro-cultures that buzz around each other on this perfect vineyard of a peninsula, the wines of Italy have so much to say.  If you take the time, each wine can express its own identity through flavor and terroir.  The wine tells you about the local cuisine, and in most cases, the wines tell you about the local people, too.

Thanks to Piemonte Land of Perfection I have been able to start understanding the proud, heartwarming and generous wines of Piemonte.  I can certainly say- the wines are much like the people.  Perhaps on the surface just a little austere, but just underneath something passionate and truly alive awaits you.

In Piemonte, approach both the wines and the people honestly and without ego, and you will be rewarded by the relationship of a lifetime.
